Short Description

We invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from artists and/or creative collectives who are interested in delivering creative programming at Woods Street Arts Space in Laverton. Creative programming can be creative workshops, artist professional development and/or networking projects or creative projects with a public outcome.

Creative programming can be:

  • Creative workshop program
  • Artist professional development series and/or networking projects
  • Participatory temporary public art project that activates the space and surrounds 
  • Creative projects with a public outcome such as an exhibition or an installation.

Up to $8,000 + GST is available to applicants to deliver a community arts project.

Creative programming must reflect one of the following themes:

  1. Environment
  2. Social justice and inclusion
  3. Local place and heritage
  4. Local creative ecology development

What won’t be accepted?

  • Proposals that do not address the themes identified
  • Private business proposals or tuition
  • Programs that have no community participation or engagement
  • Programs that involve excessive noise
  • Applications from artists/collectives that owe money to Council
  • Large events

The EOI must:

  • Demonstrate a clear process for community engagement and participation
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively market creative projects to identified target groups
  • Demonstrate the capacity to deliver creative projects
  • Include a detailed budget outlining how funds will be used

Eligibility

  • Creatives over the age of 18 at the time of application
  • First Nations artists are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Artists who study, live, work, reside, or have a connection to the western suburbs of Melbourne will be given priority
