Organizer Information

Faction (팩션) is a contemporary arts platform based in Seoul, South Korea. Founded in 2021, Faction relocated in 2025 from Seongbuk-gu to Yeonhui-dong.
The organization is known for its cross-genre programming: visual art, performance, sound, film, workshops, screenings, and publications.
Faction’s name carries a dual meaning — both a “faction” (a divided group) and the blending of “fact + fiction” — reflecting its mission of dynamic, adaptive, and dialog-driven curatorial practice.

Title & Description

2026 Faction Project Open Call (2026 팩션 프로젝트 공모)

This open call invites artists, curators, and creative practitioners (individuals or collectives) to propose a project to realize at Faction during 2026.
The format is intentionally open and flexible: there is no fixed restriction on medium, genre, or artistic form. The selected project is expected to be produced or exhibited in Faction’s physical space (or in a way that aligns with their curatorial vision).
With this call, Faction seeks to support experimental, cross-disciplinary, and conceptually bold proposals, enabling creators to engage in meaningful exchange and to expand their practice in a collaborative and well-respected arts environment.

Additional Details

  • The open call is very open-ended: Faction explicitly allows any medium, format, and genre.
  • Because only one project will be selected (based on the Instagram call), competition may be strong.
  • The grant (KRW 1,000,000) is for production, but travel, shipping, and accommodation are not covered in their announcement. (They did not mention those costs, so assume they’re not part of the grant unless confirmed.)
  • As the selected project is produced in the Faction space, proposals should carefully consider space constraints, technical feasibility, and timing.
