Fez Art Residency is an independent collective based in Fez Medina, Morocco. We focus on slow, place-based residencies and international cultural exchange, offering artists immersive opportunities to explore, reflect, and reconnect with their practice and the creative heritage of the Medina.

8WEEKSinFEZ is a place-based residency and cultural storytelling project offering free accommodation in private apartments to selected visual artists for stays of 1 to 8 weeks in September and October 2025.
Set in the heart of Fez Medina, this residency is designed as non-pressured, open-ended time for artists — with no requirement to produce or exhibit work. Artists are invited to explore the city, its textures, traditions, and creative energy at their own pace.
The structure is simple but powerful – a place to stay, no expectations, and a city that invites exploration and creativity.

Location
Fez Medina, Morocco – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the world’s largest car-free urban zone and one of the oldest living cities in the world.
Key Dates
- Application Deadline: July 15, 2025
- Residency Period: September–October 2025
- Shortlisted artists will be contacted 4–6 weeks prior to the residency start date
Application Fee
There is no application fee.
Accommodation is fully covered.
Artists are responsible for their own travel, visas, meals, insurance, and materials.
