Organizer Information

The FOTOAWARD is an international non-commercial photography contest and exhibition platform operating since 2018. It is hosted in collaboration with the Russian-language independent media portal D3.ru, one of the earliest social networking ecosystems in the Russian internet landscape, founded in 2001.

The platform functions as both a curated exhibition space and a competitive photographic ecosystem where experienced photographers are invited to publish and test their work in a highly critical, public-facing environment. Unlike traditional photography competitions, FOTOAWARD emphasizes open audience evaluation combined with structured jury assessment. The platform is known for its hybrid model combining community-driven feedback, algorithmic ranking, and international jury selection.

The contest has developed into a global photographic network, integrating amateur, emerging, and professional photographers within a transparent evaluation system. It operates with an emphasis on openness, long-term visibility of results, and public access to jury decisions and selection processes.

Title & Description

FOTOAWARD 2026 – International Photography Contest & Exhibition

The FOTOAWARD 2026 is an international Photography competition and exhibition designed for experienced photographers who are invited to participate through a curated selection process. Unlike open submission platforms, participation is invitation-based, requiring artists to first submit their work for consideration.

The program operates through a multi-layered evaluation system that includes public audience voting, monthly TOP-10 selections, semifinal jury review, and a final international jury composed of renowned photographers and industry professionals. The system is designed to evaluate photographic works both through public reception and expert assessment.

Selected participants publish their works on the FOTOAWARD exhibition platform hosted on d3.ru, where they receive a special “Gold Account” status. The platform hosts a large and diverse audience of over 41,000 registered users, ranging from non-specialist viewers to professional photographers, creating an open and often critical feedback environment.

The contest emphasizes transparency and algorithmic evaluation, with winners determined through a mathematical ranking system combining audience engagement and jury scoring. All submissions, jury compositions, and results remain publicly accessible, ensuring long-term archival visibility of photographic works.

The 2026 edition continues the platform’s mission of creating an international space for fine-art photography exchange, where artists can test their work in a highly visible and intellectually challenging environment.
