Organizer Information
Fotograf Magazine is a comprehensive periodical published in both Czech and English since 2002. Building on the magazine's activities, Fotograf Gallery opened in 2009, and the first Fotograf Festival was held two years later, leading to the establishment of Fotograf 07 z.s. as an officially registered association functioning as an art platform. The organization carries out publication, exhibition, and educational activities in photography and related disciplines, aiming to promote photography within contemporary art and increase its visibility both in the Czech Republic and internationally. Today the organization operates under the umbrella "Fotograf Zone," encompassing the magazine, Fotograf Gallery, and the annual Fotograf Zone Festival in Prague. This open call is issued as part of the Fotograf Zone Festival 2026 (16th edition), titled "Wild Kin," running 1–11 October 2026 across several venues in Prague.

Fotograf Zone Festival 2026 – International Open Call ("Your Work in Public Space!")
This open call invites photographic project submissions for display on poster panels in the concourse of Můstek metro station at Wenceslas Square, Prague, as part of the Fotograf Zone Festival. Submitted projects should loosely relate to the festival's 2026 theme, which explores relationships between humans, animals, environments, and technologies — questions of perception, closeness, dependency, and shared space between species and communities. Four selected projects will be exhibited in the Můstek metro entrance hall for the duration of the festival.

"Wild Kin" — the festival explores forms of coexistence and attention, including relationships between humans, animals, environments, and technologies, and how such relationships might shape the near future.

Eligibility

Program Benefits & Awards
- Selected work displayed on poster panels in the Můstek metro station entrance hall during the Fotograf Zone Festival
- The festival covers all costs for production, printing, and installation of the exhibition, as well as photodocumentation
- Four projects will be selected in total
Application Fee
Participation fee: €35 per project (Early bird rate: €28 per project, for submissions by the early bird deadline). Payment is required by bank transfer to account number 2800358798/2010, IBAN CZ8420100000002800358798, BIC/SWIFT FIOBCZPPXXX, made out to Fotograf 07 z.s., with "OPEN CALL FM_surname" noted in the payment reference. Applications are only properly included in the first round once the fee is paid.

- Winners are chosen by an international jury: curator Lucie Černá, artist Karina Golisová, curator Lovro Japundžić, and curator Amelie Rose Schüle.
