GIRAF Call For Films
Short Description
The Quickdraw Animation Society (QAS) is accepting submissions for the 21st GIRAF International Festival of Independent Animation, scheduled for November 2025 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The festival celebrates independent animation that explores innovative techniques, creative storytelling, and thought-provoking themes.
The organizers are looking for animation submissions, in all styles, genres, lengths, and mediums, to present to their audience in Calgary, Canada.

Amateur and professional
Program Benefits or Awards
Selected films will be presented during GIRAF 21 and the best International and Canadian short film will be awarded.
Film Criteria
Accepted:
All styles, genres, lengths, and mediums of animation
Abstract, experimental, and narrative animations
Student films and professional works
Not Accepted:
Commercial work (advertisements, explainer videos, trailers, festival stingers)
Children's films (festival is aimed at an adult audience)
Music videos (accepted rarely, but exceptions may be made).
