Hands-on Residency reimagines the traditional in-person residency, offering a dynamic two-month online programme that provides the benefits of an immersive artistic experience without the need for relocation. This innovative format allows artists to fully engage in their creative development while seamlessly balancing the programme with their existing commitments. By expanding accessibility beyond geographical constraints, the residency enables participants from diverse backgrounds to immerse themselves in artistic research and career growth within a flexible and supportive environment.

At the heart of the residency is a strong mentorship programme led by established artists. Over the course of two months, mentors provide tailored guidance, offering valuable insights into each participant’s project development. Through one-to-one discussions, curated reading materials, and expert recommendations, residents receive the necessary support to refine their practice, deepen their conceptual understanding, and expand their artistic perspective.

The residency culminates in a final group exhibition, collaboratively developed by the participating artists. This collective effort encourages dialogue, shared decision-making, and creative exchange, reinforcing the sense of community that Hands-on seeks to foster.
