Haworth Trust Applications Open for 2025

Open call for Submissions! Three scholarships awarded by The Haworth Trust in collaboration with Paradise Works Paradise Works and The Haworth Trust are excited to announce they are offering three new awards to support talented contemporary visual artists developing ambitious new works and sustainable careers in Greater Manchester.

For these awards; The Haworth Trust and Paradise Works are particularly interested in artists whose work has a strong relationship to, or references painting, drawing, sculpture, installation and/or music. This is our third year running this programme, previous recipients include: Kelan Andrews, Adam Rawlinson, and Freya Wysocki.

We’re looking for three artists to award a free studio for a year with a package of mentoring support and a materials budget. This opportunity will be awarded to two artists with an artistic practice of 3 years or less post graduation, and one early-mid career artist with a practice of 3-7 years post graduation.

You will also get an opportunity at the end of the year for a group show in Paradise Works’ Gallery. This will be an Open Call process. Panel Members for shortlisting / interviews will consist of Paradise Works Director Jessica Bennett and two members of the internal Artist Direction Group. The awards will run November 2025 – November 2026.

New Graduate Award 

This award includes studio rental for twelve months, a materials budget of £500 and a mentoring package. To apply you must have an artistic practice of 3 years or less post graduation. The New Graduate Award will support a crucial step beyond university and maximise peer support between graduates. The awarded artist will receive mentoring support from selected Paradise Works artists who share a similar discipline, sensibility and demonstrate different points in creative practice. This year we will be taking on two artists, one from a painting and drawing background and one from a sculpture, installation and / or music background. To apply you must have completed a degree in Fine Art and currently be based in the North West.

Early to Mid Career Award 

This award includes studio rental for twelve months, a materials budget of £1000 and mentoring support from established arts professionals in our network. To apply you must have an established track record of 3-7 years of professional artistic practice post graduation. This award seeks to address a crucial gap in provision for committed artists who are reaching a pivotal point in their careers whereby they require a period of focussed studio time and mentorship to consolidate their experiences, identify their next steps and establish a clear plan to achieve their creative goals. For this award, artists can apply from a painting, drawing, sculpture, installation and/or music background. 

Deadline for submissions is Sunday 31st August 2025 at Midnight.
