Organizer Information

INDUSTRA is a cultural and creative complex in Brno, Czech Republic, founded in 2012 in a former ice cream factory. The local cultural and civic society was given a foundation and space to realise ambitious, independent ideas. The complex today comprises several distinct programs: INDUSTRA STAGE, a venue for independent theatre, dance, and new circus; INDUSTRA ART, an international contemporary art gallery; INDUSTRA LABS, an international residency program and incubator for creative and cultural sector projects; and INDUSTRA MOVIES, an art-house and repertory cinema. INDUSTRA ART presents a curated selection of eight exhibition projects each year, accompanied by an educational programme for the general public and professionals. The gallery itself occupies a former compressor factory building within the redeveloped Zbrojovka (former arms factory) industrial site in Brno-Židenice, and has run an annual open call for exhibition projects since at least 2022.

Title & Description

INDUSTRA ART Open Call 2027

INDUSTRA ART Gallery is inviting submissions of exhibition projects for its 2027 program. The gallery supports original projects by art school students, graduates, and established artists whose work is able to command the entire space of the industrial gallery. Particular value is placed on site-specific projects that bring new curatorial solutions and engage with current discourses in contemporary art. Applicants may propose an exhibition project, an Art & Tech Residency, or both in a single application; the Art & Tech Residency track, however, is open only to individual artists and their specific projects, not to collectives.
