Innovate Grant — Summer 2026 Cycle
Innovate Grant offers quarterly, unrestricted cash grants to one visual artist and one photographer, along with honorable mentions in each category. The program is built around a simplified application, requiring only an applicant's name, email, grant category, and images of their work, rather than an artist statement, project proposal, or letters of recommendation. Award funds are unrestricted, meaning recipients may use them for any purpose — a new project, materials, rent, travel, or other expenses — and no receipts or progress reports are required afterward.

Eligibility
- Open to visual artists and photographers 18 years or older, from around the world (US and international applicants both eligible)
- All media and genres are accepted within two categories:
- Art: Painting, Printmaking, Drawing, Sculpture, Film/Video, Mixed Media, Installation, New Media
- Photography: Portrait, Conceptual, Still Life, Black + White, Documentary, Street, Composite, Collage
- Artist duos, collaborations, and collectives are eligible to apply
- Applicants may submit multiple applications within the same cycle, and may apply to both the Art and Photography categories, but each individual application is judged separately and requires its own fee
- Applicants who applied to a previous cycle, or who received an Honorable Mention, remain eligible to apply again
- Previous grant winners may apply again only after 5 years from receiving their initial award, and must submit new work
Program Benefits & Awards
- 1 × $1,800.00 USD grant awarded to a Visual Artist, per quarterly cycle
- 1 × $1,800.00 USD grant awarded to a Photographer, per quarterly cycle
- 18 × Honorable Mentions per cycle (9 in Art, 9 in Photography)
- Grant funds are unrestricted (no receipts or progress reports required)
- Winners receive feature profiles and interview pages in the Winners section of the organizer's website
- Winners and Honorable Mentions receive social media promotion on the organizer's Instagram (over 73,000 followers)
- All applicants retain full rights to the work they submit

Additional Details
- Application requirements: Name, Email, Grant Category (Art or Photography), Website/Instagram (optional), 3–10 images of work, captions (optional)
- Applications cannot be edited or changed after submission; submissions are considered final upon receipt
- Images should be at least 2,000 pixels on the longest side; the organizer provides technical guidance for resizing and saving images under 2MB
- For video submissions, applicants paste video URLs into the Work Captions field and must upload at least one still image from the video work
- Duos, collaborations, or collectives should list the group name and each member's name in the Work Caption field
