Situated on the grounds of a renovated traditional farm in the village of Samoš—65 kilometers from Belgrade, Serbia—Ivica Sveta is an independent, studio-based artist residency. Comprising two residential houses, dedicated workshops, outbuildings, a courtyard, and garden spaces, the organization provides visual artists with a quiet, rural environment equipped for intensive material experimentation and multi-disciplinary studio production.

Ivica Sveta Residency 2026 (Season 2): Call for Artists
Ivica Sveta has opened applications for the second season of its artist residency program, running from October 10 to October 25, 2026. The residency centers on the core theme of Material Synthesis, inviting practicing visual artists to experiment with combining ceramics, wood, and metal, as well as integrating ceramics with XPS foam. Operating without the pressure of requiring a pre-determined project proposal, the program emphasizes independent studio practice, technical skill-sharing, and material inquiry within a fully equipped ceramics and fabrication environment.

Eligibility
- Practicing Status: Open to active, practicing artists across all visual disciplines who demonstrate the capacity to work independently.
- Geographic Scope: Open unconditionally to national and international creators worldwide.
- Proposal Policy: No project proposal is required to apply.
Program Benefits & Support
- Studio Facilities & Workspace: Unlimited access to a 30 m² fully equipped ceramics studio featuring a 60-liter kiln, potter’s wheel, comprehensive hand tool sets, separate kiln room, painting/drawing easels, and a video projector.
- Fabrication Tools: Access to welding machinery, woodworking tools, and specialized materials support.
- Living Accommodations: Private bedroom in a spacious residential house with a shared, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, Wi-Fi, fresh linens, towels, and laundry facilities.
- Instructional Workshops: Dedicated workshops on working with plastics/moulding, plaster working, and metal welding.
- Technical & Logistical Assistance: Hands-on technical guidance for combining materials, assistance with purchasing supplies, and routine transportation for grocery shopping.
- Cultural Excursions: Guided trips to Belgrade, Subotica, Novi Sad, and surrounding historic Serbian towns (conditioned on at least 2 resident participants).
Application Fee & Residency Costs
- Application Fee: 100% free to apply (€0 submission fee).
- Residency Daily Fee: €40 EUR per day (covers private lodging, full studio usage, tool access, technical support, workshops, and local/excursion transportation; accommodation is self-catering).
