The competition is open to works in any 2D medium. This primarily includes:

Exclusions: The following mediums are explicitly not accepted: Three-dimensional or sculptural work, Digital, computer-manipulated, or AI art, Pure photography, and Digital prints (e.g., giclée).
Eligibility:
The competition is open to a broad range of artists, ensuring global participation and inclusion across career stages:
- Artists based in the UK or internationally can apply.
- Amateur, emerging, and established artists are all eligible.
- Students are encouraged to apply and are eligible for a special Student Award, in addition to receiving one free entry.
Program Benefits & Awards:
A total of 31 prizes are available, offering a mix of cash and significant art material credit:
- First Prize: A substantial £6,000 cash prize plus £2,000 in Jackson’s Art materials.
- Jackson’s Choice Awards (5 Winners): £1,000 in art materials each.
- Judge’s Choice Awards (6 Winners): £1,000 in art materials each, selected by the Guest Judges.
- People’s Choice Award: £1,000 in art materials.
- Student Award: £500 in art materials.
- Amateur Award: £500 in art materials.
- Material Awards (8 Categories): Dedicated prizes for specific material use, with winners receiving £750–£1,000 in materials and runners-up receiving £250–£500 in materials.

- Standard Entry: £6.50 per artwork (Available from December 18 to February 11).
- Volume Discount: Submit 5 artworks for the price of 4.
