Brief Description
Lake Como Design Festival 2025 (13-21 September, Como, Italy) launches its seventh edition with the theme “Frammenti” (Fragments). The festival offers an interdisciplinary platform where design, art, and architecture intersect through exhibitions, installations, and discussions, exploring fragmentation in contemporary society from different perspectives.
Theme
The 2025 edition explores fragmentation as a destructive and regenerative force, touching on themes of war, environmental disasters, and societal divisions while highlighting creative acts of reconstruction and re-connection. The festival emphasizes three main themes:
- Fragility – Breaking, fragmenting, and decomposing as artistic expressions.
- Regenerative Acts – Assembling and reconfiguring fragments into new forms.
- Memory – Preserving cultural, historical, and material fragments.
Eligibility
- Open to independent designers and studios.
- Publishers and galleries may apply on behalf of designers.
- Accepted works include unique pieces, limited editions, or serial products (max two projects per designer, one must be an unpublished work).

- The deadline for submission: March 31, 2025.
Submission Requirements
- Only two projects per applicant.
- At least one must be an unseen (not exhibited before) work.
- The organization arranges the exhibition, both indoor and outdoor.
- Exclusive exhibition spaces available upon request (price list available).
Selection Process
A curatorial team will review submissions and select projects based on their alignment with the theme and artistic merit.
