Centre d’art contemporain – La Synagogue de Delme is a contemporary art centre in Delme, France, supporting contemporary artistic creation through exhibitions, residencies, and cultural programmes. Since 2002, its Lindre-Basse residency programme has hosted 80 artists across three-month residency periods. The 2027 programme continues its support for emerging contemporary creation through two residencies for visual artists, organized in collaboration with the Parc naturel régional de Lorraine and the municipality of Lindre-Basse.

Lindre-Basse Residency 2027 for Visual Artists
Residency in Lindre-Basse 2027 is an open call for two visual artists to undertake research-based artistic projects in a rural setting in Lindre-Basse, within the Lorraine Regional Natural Park. Artists are encouraged to develop projects that engage with the territory in a broad sense, including its natural environment, socio-economic context, history, and local communities.
The residency provides an opportunity for artists to work in an immersive environment while connecting with residents, school audiences, and art and culture professionals from the cross-border region. Each residency concludes with an open studio, while awareness-raising workshops with different audiences may also be offered during the residency.

Eligibility
The call is primarily intended for French-speaking visual artists with evidence of professional activity in the visual arts. Applicants should demonstrate motivation to undertake a research project during the residency. Proposals engaging with the Lindre-Basse territory are encouraged.
Applicants must submit a project proposal, portfolio, and CV. Following an initial selection of 15 candidates by the art centre's team, a jury of partners and invited art professionals will select two residents.

The residency takes place in a former presbytery converted into a studio accommodation, measuring approximately 70 m² with a 6 m ceiling, a remote-controlled lifting system, and a picture rail. The programme emphasizes artistic research and exchange with the local territory rather than requiring a particular artistic medium.
The residency is especially suited to artists able to work in a French-speaking environment and interested in developing a project through engagement with the natural, historical, social, or economic characteristics of Lindre-Basse.
