Short Description:

The Ludwig Forum for International Art is a museum for international contemporary art. It is based on the Peter and Irene Ludwig Collection, which encompasses key works of global art from 1960 to the present. The Ludwig Forum’s collection forms the starting point for a program of exhibitions, events, and educational programs that is as diverse, multifaceted, and transdisciplinary as possible.

The curatorial traineeship is designed to enable young art historians, after completing their degree, to enter their careers by gaining practical experience at an internationally renowned institution. Within this framework, applicants will be guided in independently handling collection- and exhibition-related tasks.

Tasks
• Collaboration in the curatorial organization of exhibitions
• Editorial assistance in the creation of publications
• Support of the business and responsibilities of the management

Submission Requirements

• Completed academic university studies (with a Master’s degree) in the fields of art history, art science, cultural studies, museology/museum studies or an equivalent university degree
• Initial practical experience in museum and/or exhibition work
• Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary art

• High resilience
• Knowledge of office applications and image processing
• Structured and independent working style
• High degree of initiative, reliability and planning and organizational skills

Program Benefits / Awards

full-time positions for a period of two years. The salary in the first year is 50% of pay group 13 TVöD, level 1. In the second year, the salary is 50% of pay group 13 TVöD, level 2. The weekly working hours are 39 hours.
