Short Description:

This is an international, research & studio-based MFA program with strong emphasis on artistic research, experimentation, and interdisciplinary practice. The program supports students in developing individual artistic projects in response to contemporary global urgencies and social/political/environmental challenges. Students work in a critical environment, engage with diverse media, and are encouraged to push boundaries in their artistic practice.

Curriculum Highlights:

  • Four semesters (two years) with a mixture of studio work, theory/practice courses and electives.
  • Mandatory course “Experts in Teamwork” (EiT) in the first year.
  • Final thesis project involving both an artistic project (with public/professional presentation, e.g. an exhibition) and a written critical reflection or thesis, plus an oral defense.
  • Access to facilities: studio spaces, workshops (wood, metal, plaster, printmaking, photo, video, audio/visual production) and technical support.
  • Public presentation opportunities: master exhibition, seminars, critique sessions, etc.

Entry Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts or fine arts (BFA / BA or equivalent)
  • Documented artistic practice: portfolio of recent works (up to 10 works) from the last ~5 years.
  • Proposal for a research / artistic project (how you want to develop practice and where you are starting from)
  • English language requirement (the program is taught in English)
