Short Description
The Mawddach Residency offers space for thought, reflection and creation – an opportunity to completely immerse yourself in your practice and leave with a renewed passion for your work.
Artists, writers and musicians are invited to spend two weeks away from distractions along the banks of the Mawddach Estuary, in the beautiful surroundings of the Eryri National Park. We are now accepting proposals for our Autumn/Winter 2025-26 residency program, with 7 residency slots available for application.
Please note, resident artists will be accommodated in two bedrooms which can be configured as a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, or two double bedrooms. The additional costs of food, materials & travel are not included in the fees/bursaries and are the responsibility of the residents.

RESIDENCY FEES
SOLO RESIDENT – £860(2 week stay)
PARENT RESIDENT – £860 (2 week stay, Children & co-parent included)
2 RESIDENTS – £610 each(cost per resident, 2 week stay)
3 RESIDENTS – £430 each(cost per resident, 2 week stay)
4 RESIDENTS – £335 each (cost per resident, 2 week stay)
Bursaries
We provide a selection of bursaries to artists-in-residence to reduce the barrier of cost which can prevent prospective residents from applying. We encourage residents who are able to pay the full fee to do so, as your payment funds our bursaries and helps us to make the residency more accessible for those who cannot afford to pay the full rate.
Bursaries are awarded on a discretionary basis and require supporting statements. If you plan to apply to another organisation or funding body to fund your place on the Mawddach Residency, we can provide supporting information to assist you in making that application.
STUDENT / GRADUATE – Students & recent graduates can apply for a 25% bursary
LOW INCOME – Artists with low
household income can apply for a 25% bursary
WELSH ARTIST – Artists who were born in Wales or who currently live in Wales can apply for a 25% bursary
PUBLIC TRANSPORT TRAVEL BURSARY –
25% bursary. This bursary can be combined with another bursary for a 50% reduction.
