Brief Description
The AAA Association is calling for participants for the Montagnes Métamorphes (MM) residency, an immersive laboratory exploring climate perceptions in the Alpine environment. The residency takes place in July 2025 around the Grands Mulets refuge in the Mont-Blanc massif. It is a research and experimentation residency focused on environmental changes rather than a production-based program. The initiative, led by Laurent Chanel, gathers artists and researchers for a week-long exploration, including guided mountain activities.

  • Eligibility: Open to artists (any medium) and researchers with some mountaineering experience and good physical condition.
  • Residency Benefits: Free accommodation (private space) and meals (except snacks & lunch). Mountaineering equipment rental is covered if needed. Travel expenses are not included.
  • Theme: No specific theme, but focuses on climatic perceptions.

    1. A two-page introduction (background, motivations, and mountain experience).
    2. Two proposed contributions relevant to the context (max 2 pages).
    3. A portfolio of previous work (max 10 pages).

Selection Process
Participants will be selected based on their profiles, ensuring a diverse and cohesive team. The final group will include five artists/researchers, accompanied by a mountain guide.
