Organizer Information
GALERIE3 is a contemporary art gallery based in Klagenfurt and Vienna, Austria. It supports emerging artists, curates exhibitions, and organizes competitions to foster contemporary visual arts. The gallery collaborates with regional cultural authorities, including Land Kärnten Kultur, and corporate sponsors such as Fundermax and the Wietersdorfer Gruppe, to promote young talent in Carinthia (Kärnten).
Title & Description
Nachwuchspreis Bildende Kunst Kärnten 2026
This open call targets emerging visual artists with a connection to Carinthia, Austria. The competition aims to highlight contemporary art from the region, providing visibility, professional support, and networking opportunities. From all submissions, six finalists are shortlisted to create new works around a given theme (with a small production budget), which are then exhibited at the Künstlerhaus Klagenfurt. A jury of journalists, curators, and art experts selects the winners, combining exhibition, professional exposure, and financial awards.

Eligibility
- Age: 20–35 years (exceptions for children’s time or serious illness).
- Must have a significant connection to Carinthia (born, resident, working, or thematic link).
- Excludes participants of previous editions of similar competitions (“Junge KünstlerInnen auf dem Weg zum Erfolg” or “Bank Austria Kunstpreis Kärnten”).

Application Requirements
- Analog submission (postal or in-person) to GALERIE3 Klagenfurt or Vienna; digital-only submissions not accepted
- Include:
- Data sheet (name, birthdate/place, address, phone, email, Carinthia connection)
- Portfolio/work photos
- CV/biography
- Optional catalogs
- Do not submit originals; submissions will not be returned (can be picked up until end of July 2026).
How to Apply
Please submit your documents (data sheet [name, date of birth, place of birth, residential address, telephone number, e-mail address, Carinthia reference], portfolio, work photos, curriculum vitae, catalogues if applicable, no originals!) analogue, post or in person to the GALERIE3 Klagenfurt or GALERIE3 Vienna. Purely digital submissions cannot be evaluated.
