About the No Place Art
Established in 2018, No Place Art is an artist-led initiative dedicated to supporting and connecting emerging and mid-career artists with those who may support their art. We do this by co-designing, curating and delivering honest ways to connect emerging artists with their future champions.
The No Place Art | Edition One | Materiality exhibition is an opportunity to cultivate meaningful opportunities for creative development and professional growth by fostering collaborations with respected arts organisations and individuals. These partnerships are how we offer tailored awards that will both enrich artists’ practices and expand their networks.
Exhibition Overview
Artists active in printmaking or painting (can include mixed media) are invited to submit up to five artworks up to a framed size of 2 x 2m, to be considered by judges for the No Place Art | Edition One: Materiality exhibition.
Venue: The Handbag Factory, Vauxhall, London, SE11 5RB.
Dates: 25th – 29th September 2025.
Theme: Materiality.
Artists: 80 selected participants — 40 printmakers and 40 painters.
Eligibility
- Open to artists aged 18 or over – worldwide.
- Artists may submit up to five works each. Up to five works per artist may be selected.
- Acceptable mediums include printmaking and painting*.
- Works must align with the theme Materiality, completed within the last three years.
- Artworks must be of original creation by the submitting artist.
- Artworks should not exceed the size of 2m x 2m including the frame. Our judges reserve the right to decline/reject any artworks submitted exceeding our limit.
Submission
__ A non-refundable submission fee of £24 for the first artwork, £10 per additional work.
__ For Artists 24 and Under a non-refundable submission fee of £16.00 for the first artwork, £10.00 per addition work.
__ Digital submissions must include high-resolution JPEG images (Max 5MB) with
file-names formatted as:
NameSurname_TitleOfWork_Medium_Size_Date_Country.jpg.
__ Works that do not match their submissions in condition or theme may be withdrawn at the discretion of the committee.
__ All withdrawn works must be collected at the artist’s expense
__ If the selected works arrive damaged, with unacceptable framing, size discrepancies from the original submission, not as shown online, or in the opinion of the Selection Committee as not being in the spirit of printmaking or painting, or the theme Materiality, then these will be withdrawn. All withdrawn artworks will need to be collected from North London Framers by the artist at their expense. The decision of the Selection Committee is final and we are unable to offer feedback.
__ Submissions will be accepted through the Olist Platform.
