Tangled Art + Disability is a leading Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of Deaf, Mad, Neurodivergent, and Disability-identified artists through curatorial programs, exhibitions, and advocacy. OAC Exhibition Assistance Grant
This grant offers financial aid to Ontario-based artists for covering costs associated with confirmed exhibitions, such as materials, installation, or accessibility needs. It empowers Deaf, Mad, Neurodivergent, or Disability-identified creators to realize ambitious projects, fostering greater representation and innovation in public exhibitions starting from January 16, 2025 onward.

Eligibility

Ontario residents aged 18+ with a confirmed exhibition invitation starting on or after January 16, 2025. Priority for Deaf, Mad, Neurodivergent, or Disability-identified artists; open to all but recommender endorsement from Tangled is required for priority applicants.

Program Benefits & Awards

Grants of $500–$2,000 to offset exhibition expenses (e.g., production, travel, access costs). No strings attached beyond the confirmed exhibition; supports both emerging and established artists in realizing inclusive projects.

Application Requirements

  • Completed online form in OAC’s Nova system with exhibition details and budget.
  • Responses to Artistic Merit and Project Merit questions.
  • Recommender name (Tangled Art + Disability).
  • Support materials: Up to 8 images, 8 minutes of video, or combo.
  • Resume/CV.
  • Confirmation letter from the exhibition organizer (dates, contact, location).

Submit via OAC’s Nova online portal. For priority, select Tangled as a recommender and contact them for endorsement.
