The residency is hosted by Cultivamos Cultura, a cultural organization based in São Luís, Odemira, Portugal, as part of the OASis residency program. The program encourages exchange between international creators and local communities and supports interdisciplinary artistic practices, collaboration, and environmentally conscious projects.

OASis “Bom Dia” Residency 2027
The “Bom Dia” OASis Residency 2027 invites one individual artist/creator/researcher or a group of up to two people to develop a project at Cultivamos Cultura during 7–30 days in March 2027. The residency encourages projects that engage with the local community and may involve artist talks, walks, workshops, open studios, collaborative events, performance, installation, or audio-visual work. Selected residents must produce an artistic output for the OASis 2027 group exhibition, and one resulting work must become part of the Cultivamos Cultura collection. Projects with ecological interests, sustainable approaches, connections to local or natural materials, community engagement, and international artistic exchange are particularly valued.

Eligibility
The call is open internationally to artists, creators, researchers, practitioners, and experts from different fields, including those working at the intersection of culture and other disciplines. Applicants may apply individually or as a group of no more than two people. The funding and residency conditions remain the same for a pair as for one individual. Selected residents must be physically present in São Luís throughout the approved residency period and should demonstrate sufficient autonomy through their recent portfolio.
Program Benefits & Awards
The residency provides a project fee of €1,300, up to €500 toward travel, accommodation in a private room in a shared farmhouse, access to a shared kitchen, a food per diem, and up to €1,600 for approved production and material expenses. Residents receive free access to Cultivamos Cultura’s spaces and resources and a dedicated workspace/studio. The host team provides occasional project support. The resulting work will be presented locally and through the OASis network, with selected documentation shared through partner websites and social media. One artistic output will enter the Cultivamos Cultura collection.

Additional Details
The jury consists of three Cultivamos Cultura members, three OASis partner-organization members, and one local community member. Proposals are assessed for originality, feasibility within Cultivamos Cultura’s resources, and relevance to the objectives of the call. The call specifically highlights ecological concerns, sustainable futures, local/natural materials, community interaction, and international artistic exchange. Production and material expenses require prior approval and are paid against an invoice. We do not provide individual feedback to unsuccessful applicants.
