Organizer Information

Onassis ONX is the Onassis Foundation's global art and advanced technology platform, supporting experimental digital culture, immersive experiences, and interdisciplinary artistic practices. With studios in Athens and New York City, it provides artists and creative technologists with technical expertise, mentoring, production support, funding, and opportunities to present their work internationally.

ONX Seeds is its foundational incubation program for emerging artists, creative technologists, designers, performers, and collectives developing projects at the intersection of art and technology. The program supports early-stage concepts through a four-month development process, helping selected teams create functional prototypes and connect with an international network of curators, producers, festivals, and technology partners.

Title & Description

ONX Seeds 2026–2027 — Open Call for Art and Technology Projects

ONX Seeds 2026–2027: Soft Circuits for Hard Times invites artists and interdisciplinary teams to explore how technology can foster care, resistance, collective imagination, and alternative ways of connecting. The open call challenges conventional ideas of digital progress, automation, and technological control, encouraging applicants to develop projects that make digital systems tangible, interactive, and open to reinterpretation.

The program seeks innovative proposals that combine material processes with computational systems, connecting digital experiences with touch, movement, sound, physical space, and social interaction. Selected participants will undertake four months of incubation, developing their concepts into functional, exhibition-ready prototypes. The program culminates in ONX.Exhibition.Athens.2027, a public showcase and industry networking event in Athens.

Eligibility

The call is international and open to emerging artists, recent graduates, creative technologists, designers, game makers, performers, and interdisciplinary teams or collectives working across art and technology. Applicants may be based in Greece or elsewhere internationally. The program particularly welcomes experimental practices that combine digital and analogue approaches.

Proposals must be technically feasible and achievable within the four-month incubation period and available production budget. Projects should result in a functional prototype suitable for exhibition. The program discourages large-scale scenography, industrial-scale technology, extensive crew requirements, and permanent architectural interventions.
