Panopticon Gallery is a contemporary photography gallery dedicated to promoting the art of photographic storytelling. Through exhibitions, events, and artist programs, the gallery provides visibility and professional development for both emerging and established photographers. They host annual juried portfolio exhibitions that highlight cohesive bodies of work and foster community engagement among artists, collectors, and curators.
Title & Description:
First Look 2026 – This is an annual juried portfolio exhibition celebrating photographic storytelling. Artists are invited to submit cohesive bodies of work that demonstrate technical skill, conceptual depth, and a distinct point of view. Selected portfolios will be featured in the main exhibition, and additional standout images may appear in the concurrent exhibition “First Look: A Second Glance” on The Wall at Panopticon Gallery. This showcase provides exposure, engagement with the gallery community, and opportunities for professional growth.
Categories:
Photography – All genres of photographic work are welcome, focusing on cohesive portfolios rather than single images.
Eligibility:
International photographers are eligible to apply. Both emerging and established artists are welcome. There is no age restriction.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Exhibition of approximately five images from each selected portfolio in the main gallery.
- Additional exposure in the concurrent “First Look: A Second Glance” exhibition.
- Curatorial guidance on ideal presentation and dimensions.
- Networking opportunities with collectors, curators, and peers.

Application Fee:
- $40 per portfolio
- $30 per portfolio for students (valid student ID required)
Payment is required for jury consideration and supports gallery programming. Payment link provided on the website.

- Up to 10 images from a single cohesive body of work
