Short Description
Pedantic Arts Residency (Pedantic) re-embraces the significant impact that education, study, and structured contemplation can have on artistic output by emphasizing the art world tradition of interconnecting creators, organizers, and critics. Pedantic is an opportunity for exchange and inspiration between 3 such creatives who practice visual art, curating, and writing. It is a unique invitation to open greater and more cross-disciplinary dialogue within the arts where each singular, definitive role becomes part of a collective, exploratory experience.

Program Benefits & Awards
- Provides each resident with a free bedroom at the Pedantic Apartment, a $2,000 honorarium to be used at the resident’s discretion, and assistance with establishing relevant connections to individuals and organizations key to the research goals.
- Entails weekly programming including but not limited to private dinners, studio visits, and museum tours. Many of these will be open to members of the larger public or specific invited guests, while others will be reserved as special opportunities just for the cohort.
- Assigns each resident a Pittsburgh-based guide working in a similar field who will help connect the resident to relevant activities, resources, and local professional contacts.
