Title & Description
Open Call: 2-Month Artist-in-Residence Program 2026 – “Binding Sites”
Petrohradská kolektiv invites international and local artists, collectives, and creators to apply for its 2026 Artist-in-Residence program in Prague. The residency lasts between 4 to 8 weeks (July–September 2026) and offers participants dedicated studio space, accommodation, technical support, and a public presentation opportunity.
The 2026 thematic framework, “Binding Sites”, explores how identity and subjectivity are formed through contact, attachment, and transformation. Drawing from biological metaphors of binding processes, the programme positions the self as something continuously shaped by external forces—ecological, digital, social, political, and material.
Artists are invited to investigate how environments, infrastructures, technologies, and histories “attach” themselves to human and more-than-human bodies. The residency encourages research-based approaches that examine the invisible systems shaping contemporary life, including surveillance, labor systems, pharmaceuticals, migration, and digital platforms.
Selected residents will develop new work culminating in a collective exhibition or alternative public formats such as performances, screenings, workshops, or participatory events at Petrohradská kolektiv’s exhibition spaces in Prague.
