Short Description
Phileas – The Austrian Office for Contemporary Art invites museums, biennials and art institutions to apply for grants to support international projects with Austrian and Austria-based artists in 2026.
Eligibility
- Projects must present the work of an Austrian or Austria-based artist
- Projects must open in 2026
- Exhibitions and participations of Austrian or Austria-based artist(s) at international museums, biennials and art institutions are eligible for funding
- Projects by international artists based in Austria taking place in their countries of origin will not be considered
- Priority is given to solo exhibitions and projects that contribute to the production of new artworks
Submission Requirements
- Description of project and its relevance to your institution, including the type of project, its dates, name of the participating artist(s) and relevant image material with captions
- Contact details for the project’s curator or manager and portfolio(s) of the participating artist(s)
- A detailed budget, including funding contributions secured from elsewhere. We advise applicants to look into additional funding provided by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport (BMWKMS). Further information can be found below
