Title & Description
PhotoWork Junior Fellowship
The PhotoWork Junior Fellowship is a six-month mentorship program for early-career photographers working in the post-documentary photography tradition. The program is designed for artists who want to develop a photographic project, strengthen their visual language, and gain greater clarity about their creative process and professional practice.
Six Fellows are selected by a jury and individually paired with established photographers whose experience and approach are considered appropriate for each artist's work. From January through June 2027, Fellows will participate in monthly online one-to-one critique sessions, group meetings, and additional professional-development sessions. Fellows develop a project of their choice while receiving guidance on artistic vision, photographic practice, post-production, and articulating their work.

Applicants should submit a cohesive body of photographic work and demonstrate a clear commitment to developing their practice. A previous project may also be submitted if it represents the applicant's current abilities and artistic direction. Studio-based work can be considered, although it is not the preferred approach. AI-generated and computer-generated imagery is not eligible.
The Foundation does not claim ownership of Fellows' work; apart from displaying or contextualizing work online for exhibition or Fellowship promotion, it does not retain rights or other legal claims to work created during the program
