Poster for Tomorrow is the flagship project of 4Tomorrow (4Tomorrow Association), an independent, non-profit organization based in Paris. Founded in 2009 by a group of designers originally focused on drawing attention to censorship and freedom of expression, the project has since grown into an international campaign addressing a different human-rights theme each edition — including the abolition of the death penalty, the right to education, gender equality, the right to housing, and workers' rights. Over more than a decade, Poster for Tomorrow reports having received over 40,000 poster submissions from more than 150 countries and having staged over 1,000 exhibitions across five continents. The organization is run by a small team of volunteer designers and relies on goodwill and partnerships to operate.
Title & Description
Poster for Tomorrow — "Dignity" (14th Edition, 2026–2027)
This international poster design competition invites designers and design students worldwide to respond visually to the theme of dignity, framed by the organizers as a universal human right enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (referenced in its Preamble and Article 1). The brief asks participants to consider how dignity is understood, protected, or threatened today, and to interpret the theme freely rather than illustrate the brief's own text directly. The organizers state that posters need not contain text at all, and that if text is used, participants are encouraged to write in their own native language.

Dignity — framed as an inherent human right that "transcends language and location," explored in the context of ongoing human rights violations worldwide (including violence, persecution, displacement, and inequality of access to healthcare, education, and work).

Eligibility

- Open to individuals; teams/creative groups may also enter, but must register under one member's individual name and add co-authors/team members when submitting entries
- Design studios may participate as a creative team (not under the studio's name)

Judging occurs in two phases: an online jury review, followed by a live jury of international creatives and thinkers (confirmed jury members for this edition include designers and cultural figures from Israel, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Poland). By submitting, participants are understood to grant Poster for Tomorrow an irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, exhibit, and distribute their entry in connection with the organization's activities and those of its partner institutions, charities, or sponsors; any use beyond this would be separately notified to the participant, with a mutual written agreement and possible fee or royalty by consent. Submitting more than one poster that is similar to another own-entry is discouraged, as it can reduce each poster's individual chance of being shortlisted.
