Pottery Farm Gallery, founded in 2012, is an independent creative retreat located in the Gers region of southwest France. Set on a hillside with panoramic views of rolling hills and the Pyrenees, the residency provides a distraction-free space for designers, writers, filmmakers, visual artists, musicians, photographers, textile artists, and other creators. Since 2022, the Pottery Farm Residency Program has offered short-term residencies for international artists to focus on projects, rest, and inspiration in a rural, natural environment.

The Pottery Farm Residency invites creative professionals from all disciplines to spend two weeks in the heart of Gascony. Residents are hosted in a historic farmhouse with shared and private workspaces, alongside expansive outdoor areas for creative practice. Designed as a peaceful retreat, the program allows artists to focus entirely on their projects without external expectations, while enjoying opportunities for connection with fellow residents.

Eligibility:

  • International applicants welcome
  • Selection based on clarity of project proposal, quality of work, and ability to connect with fellow residents

Costs/Funding:

  • Residency fee: €1300 per person for 2 weeks
  • 50% deposit required upon acceptance; balance due 1 month before residency
  • No stipend provided
  • Expenses (travel, production, food, materials) covered by the artist

  • Private accommodation in a farmhouse with 360° panoramic views
  • Shared and private workspaces including:
  • Studio Gallery: bright communal space with designated work areas
  • Pigeon Coop: secluded private studio
  • Outdoor fields for open-air work
  • Exhibition space and promotional support
  • Kitchen, internet, bicycles, and access to rural surroundings

Expectations & Outcomes:

  • No mandatory outcomes or public presentations
  • Artists are free to concentrate on their projects without distraction
  • Optional participation in workshops, gardening, open studios, or exhibitions
