Short Description

Casa África launches the 11th edition of Purorrelato, a micro-story contest aimed at promoting literary creation that encourages new perspectives on Africa, moving away from stereotypes.

 

Entries per author: Up to three micro-stories.

Language options: Spanish, English, French, or Portuguese.

Length: Maximum 1,500 characters (including spaces, excluding the title).

Theme

The theme is open, but stories must be related to Africa in some way—whether set on the continent or simply incorporating an African element.

Submission Requirements

Must be original and unpublished.

Cannot have won a prize or be under consideration in another contest.

Authors must ensure there are no third-party rights over their work.

 

Submission Process

Download and fill out the application form, sign, and scan it.

Prepare your micro-stories.

Have a copy of your ID or passport.

Register and submit your application via Mundo Arti.

 

Eligibility

Open to: Anyone 18 years or older (except Casa África staff and past winners).

First Prize: €750

Second Prize: €375

Third Prize: €225

Additional Mentions: Runners-up or special mentions may be awarded (4th–6th place).
