The city of Neu-Ulm is seeking an artistic director for its off-space PUTTE, who will breathe new life into the project space for young, unconventional art.
With the walk-through installation “Proof of Mother” and the participatory installation “The Great Escape,” former curators Michael Schlecht and Elisabeth Würzl have given the PUTTE project space a home for non-commercial contemporary art and attracted numerous visitors. As a platform for expansive, experimental, and socially relevant art forms from Germany and abroad, PUTTE has secured a place at the heart of the Neu-Ulm and Ulm art scene.
The city of Neu-Ulm is now looking for a successor who, with enthusiasm and initiative, brings strong ideas to the table to ensure that PUTTE continues to have a lively, dynamic presence.

Eligibility:
- Completed degree in art, design, film, architecture, cultural studies or related fields
- Strong interest and knowledge in contemporary art
- Experience in project management, public relations, and fundraising
- Familiarity with graphic design and CMS tools is a plus
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and full of creative initiative
- Team applications are welcome
Program Benefits or Awards:
The leadership of PUTTE offers not only great creative freedom, but also the opportunity to distinguish oneself in the curatorial field and to build a network in the regional and national art scene through connections with public space.
The position is for two years and carries a monthly salary of €1,000 . The average weekly working time is approximately eight to ten hours. In addition, the city provides an annual exhibition budget of up to €10,000.
