Short Description
The René Carcan International Engraving Prize is a biennial competition organized by Espace René Carcan, a non-profit organization based in Belgium.
Artists are invited to submit 4 original, coherent prints created within the past 3 years.
Accepted techniques include intaglio, woodcut, burin, etching, lithography, linocut, xylogravure, silkscreen, and monotype, as well as other methods that may include a discrete photographic contribution.
Entries must be submitted online through the official competition website. A pre-selection jury will choose 25 artists who will be asked to send physical copies of their works for the final judging round and exhibition.
Eligibility
The competition is open to all printmaking artists, regardless of nationality or age.

Program Benefits & Awards
Public Prize: The works of artists who have passed the selection test will be put to the vote of Internet users. This award is non-endowed.
Second Mention: This prize, endowed with an amount of € 2,000, will be awarded to the third best artist chosen by the International Jury.
First Mention – Prize Roger Dewint: This prize, endowed with an amount of € 3,000, will be awarded to the second-best artist chosen by the International Jury.
Grand Prix International René Carcan: This prize, endowed with an amount of € 5,000, will be awarded to the best artist chosen by the International Jury.
Entry Fee
An entry fee of €45 is required to complete the registration.
