Short Description
Salzburger Kunstverein, in partnership with Spike Art Magazine, invites emerging and mid-career writers to apply for its 2025 Writer-in-Residence Program. This one-month residency in Salzburg offers a unique opportunity to produce one text aligned with SKV’s 2025 theme, “Picturing Justice,” promoting critical and unconventional thinking on urgent arts and culture issues. The resulting text will be published and paid for by Spike Art Magazine.

Prepare a single PDF containing:
A summary of relevant professional experience
A pitch (up to 300 words) for a text addressing “Picturing Justice”
One sample of recently published writing (e.g., an article or exhibition text)

Selection Process:
A jury comprising Spike Editor-in-Chief Rita Vitorelli, Spike Editor Isabella Zamboni, and Salzburger Kunstverein Director Mirela Baciak will review applications.
Final selections will be made by April 7, 2025. Only successful applicants will be contacted.

Open to emerging and mid-career writers with relevant professional experience

Must provide a summary of professional experience, a 300-word pitch for a text related to SKV’s programming, and one sample of recently published writing
