The Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with the Prague Planetarium, the Czech Astronomical Society, and Astropis, invites creative explorers to participate in the Solarigraphy Meeting 2025, taking place from June 19th to 22nd at the Prague Planetarium.

Tracing Light, Capturing Time, Exploring Space

Solarigraphy is a technique that captures the sun’s movement across the sky over extended periods, revealing hidden traces of time and space. We are seeking artistic responses to this phenomenon across all mediums and disciplines. Whether through image, object, text, sound, or sculpture, we welcome works that resonate with the poetic and scientific essence of solarigraphy.

Who Should Apply?

We welcome artists, designers, and creatives who integrate art and science, art and space, and art and technology into their work. If your practice engages with these themes, we encourage you to apply.

Opportunities for Selected Artists

  • Exhibit your work at the conference, alongside leading voices in solarigraphy and creative exploration.
  • Present your practice in the Art-Block session, a Pecha-Kucha-style format where you can share other projects related to art, space, science, and technology.

How to Apply

  • A short artist statement (max. 300 words).
  • Project/artwork proposal directly connected to solarigraphy.
  • A mini portfolio of other projects related to art, space, science, or technology, which you would like to present in Art-Block.
  • CV.
