Additional Details:

  • The role is within the Public Programming team, which is central to Southbank Centre’s mission: “to be a place where as many people as possible can come together to experience art and culture.”
  • The job description emphasises that the Centre is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility; they encourage applications from all backgrounds and provide support for reasonable adjustments in the application process.
  • Applicants must not apply via email or through third-party agencies; only submissions via the Southbank Centre careers portal will be considered.
  • As a candidate with international experience (you are a film distribution professional seeking cultural opportunities), you may need to ensure you are legally eligible to work in the UK (visa/permit) — this is not stated explicitly in the advert but is standard employment practice in the UK.
  • Given your background (film, international distribution) this role could align if you have experience in programming, managing events or working with artists/facilitators — though the job is more project-production in arts participation rather than film festival distribution specifically. So you might reflect on how your film distribution background maps to event programming, public engagement and collaborative arts practice.
