The Städelschule seeks to appoint a visual artist of international standing to the position of Professor (d/f/m) of Fine Art. The institution is looking for a Professor of Fine Art (W2) whose profile reflects the school’s diversity and complements the existing expertise of its faculty.

- a desire to shape a distinct and effective Fine Arts Class structure and study environment;
- a commitment to cross-generational exchange, as well as pedagogical aptitude and understanding of theoretical positions related to art and aesthetics as well as various forms of knowledge practices.
Furthermore, the right candidate is expected to work closely with other departments and administration and to positively contribute to the steering and further development of the institution.

The appointment begins with the Winter semester of 2026–2027, starting October 1, 2026, for a fixed term of 2 years, which is renewable. Remuneration is in line with salary grade W 2 (for the Federal State of Hessen).
Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main was established in 1817. The school offers degrees in Fine Arts and a Curatorial Studies program in partnership with Goethe University. The school has an international team of acclaimed faculty and staff and attracts a diverse student body. In addition to free artistic practice in the studios, the nucleus of the teaching program is the study in classes, which are each led by a professor.
