Short Description The Studio 88 Artist Residency 2025: Evolving Identities is a creative residency program in Chiang Mai, Thailand, offering artists an immersive environment to explore the fluidity of identity through personal, cultural, and socio-political lenses. The residency welcomes artists across disciplines to engage in research, experimentation, and collaboration in a supportive setting. Residency Period: 12 May – 6 July 2025 (3-8 weeks) Location: Studio 88, Doi Saket, Chiang Mai, Thailand   Theme Evolving Identities The program encourages artists to explore identity as a fluid, ever-changing construct, shaped by memory, migration, technology, gender, environment, and artistic practice. Key thematic areas include: ✔️ Personal & Collective Identity – Tradition, ancestry, and selfhood. ✔️ Migration & Displacement – Hybridity, belonging, and loss. ✔️ Digital & Virtual Identities – AI, social media, and self-representation. ✔️ Gender & Fluidity – Evolving gender expressions and narratives. ✔️ Environmental Identity – Human-nature relationships amid climate change. ✔️ The Artist as Identity – The political and ethical role of artists today.     How to Apply Applicants must submit an online application with: CV 100-word bio 250-word statement (why you want to participate + project proposal) Artist profile & artwork samples Selected artists will be notified in early April 2025 and mid-May 2025.   Eligibility Open to visual artists, writers, performers, filmmakers, and interdisciplinary creators.
