Short Description
SUAVEART concentrates on the cultural value between art and life. Presenting the stories and issues related to “island, art and life”. Creating the borderless dialogues that can be found everywhere in our daily life.
From the island, we extend our greetings to nature—an invitation to explore the contemporary aesthetics of celestial harmony. What is your relationship with the island? How do you define “island”? Do you take plants as witnesses to adrress history? Do you shape islands as ecological laboratories? How to reinterpret the natural soul of islands?
This exhibition moves beyond human-centered narratives, embracing a non-anthropocentric perspective that reveals the intricate entanglements of land, water, and unseen forces. The ‘island’ is not merely a geographical entity but an evolving field of identification, exploration, and negotiation—a dynamic space where cultures, species, and elements intersect. It is a liminal zone, shaped by both isolation and connection, where the boundaries between the human and nonhuman blur.
Eligibility
SUAVEART invites artists, researchers, and creative practitioners to participate in an upcoming offline exhibition on Hainan Island, exploring the evolving relationship between humans and nature.
Through observation, collection, gamified exploration, and participatory engagement, this exhibition seeks to foster deeper ecological awareness and reconnect audiences with the land. The exhibition will feature artistic practice, nature-based research, and experimental storytelling—encouraging visitors to rethink their connection with islands, biodiversity, and sustainability.
