Short Description
“TALTENTEmünchen – Master of the Future” is a competition for newcomers in design and technology. It takes place annually as a special show of the International Crafts Fair Munich at the new Munich Exhibition Centre. The special show is intended to give young people the opportunity to present new innovative ideas to a public audience.
Since 1979, the organisers have been working with craft training institutions, academies, universities and craft organisations around the world to nominate the best in their country to apply. The worldwide network guarantees a unique view of trends and issues that are popular among young people in arts and crafts and technology. In this way, visitors can trace trends that are in the air and familiarise themselves with the next generation of designers. Many of the young exhibitors travel to the trade fair to take advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas. For them, the competition is often the beginning of an artistic career.
Eligibility
Since 1980, “TALENTEmünchen” has been an international competition for all areas of the creative trades. Participation is one-time. The age limit is 33 years (35 years for technology). Applications for interested parties who exceed this age limit are possible up to two years after completing their training or studies. An international jury awards the renowned TALENTEmünchen Prize. The special show is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.

Program Benefits & Awards
- A total of 8 participants in the special show will be awarded the TALENTEmünchen Prize.
- In the following year, works will be honored with images and text in the TALENTEmünchen catalog.
- The award-winning artists will receive a certificate.
Bavarian State Prize
- Every exhibitor at the International Crafts Fair can apply for the Bavarian State Prize.
- The Bavarian State Prize is awarded with 5,000 euros, a gold medal and a certificate.
