Francisco Mantecón Foundation (in partnership with Bodegas Terras Gauda, Spain) runs the biennial poster-design competition named in honour of the graphic artist Francisco Mantecón. The contest seeks to combine graphic design’s potential with the promotion of the winery’s brand and with a broader international outreach.

International Biennial Poster Design — Terras Gauda / Francisco Mantecón 2026
The competition invites graphic designers, illustrators, and visual artists globally to submit original posters. The theme and technique are free — designers may explore any subject and medium. Each entry may offer a poster that may later become part of the winery’s visual identity or cultural archive. Selected posters will be exhibited internationally under the Biennial banner.

Eligibility
Open to any natural person 18 years or older (or corporate persons) under applicable legislation. Works must be original and previously unpublished.
Program Benefits & Awards
- Grand Prize and other awards (total prize fund of approx. €16,000 across prizes)
- Selected works form part of the Biennial’s archive and may be used for the winery’s publicity/identity campaigns.
Application Fee
No application fee per se — participation requires that posters be printed and submitted under stipulated conditions (either printed in-destination via a paid printing option, or printed by the participant).
Application Requirements
- Maximum 2 works per participant.
- Poster must be unpublished, original, and may use any pictorial, photographic, digital or mixed technique. Preferably relates to the identity or branding of the organizing entity (though not strictly required).
- For printed submission: posters must be sent mounted on 50 × 70 cm foam board, protected. On the back: the automatically assigned identification number, contact email, phone; plus a separate envelope containing author’s full name, copy of ID/passport, address, telephone, email.
- For international submissions: shipping labels must indicate “No commercial value / For cultural use.”

- Print in-destination via the provided printing service (fee applies), or
- Print yourself and send via postal mail.
Follow the instructions above regarding identification, mounting, packaging, and submission.
