Organizer Information
The Grange Projects is an artist‑led residency program based in a rural setting — a former rectory in the small village of Great Cressingham, Norfolk, UK. The residency is run by artists (Nicola and John) and aims to offer an environment of generosity, reciprocity, and collective support: a space where creatives from a variety of disciplines can live, work, exchange, and develop projects together in a communal, collaborative atmosphere. The Grange’s model emphasizes artist‑led residency, shared community and resources, and affordability through a “pay‑what‑you‑can / contribution” scheme.
Title & Description
In Residence Programme — The Grange Projects
This is a recurring residency programme inviting artists and creatives to stay at The Grange for dedicated periods (sessions) of making, research, and development. For the 2026 cycle, the programme consists of five 10‑day (9-night) residency sessions between May and September. Within each session, a small group of creatives — along with the resident hosts — will share the house, studio, workshops, and grounds. The Grange Projects aims to curate cohorts whose practices complement one another, fostering a “critical, supportive, dynamic and safe space” where participants can experiment, reflect, collaborate, and receive peer feedback. The residency is open to a broad variety of creative and artistic practices.
Categories
The Grange Projects defines “artists and creatives” broadly, welcoming many kinds of practice, including (but not limited to): fine arts, sculpture, painting, printmaking, ceramics, mixed media, illustration, photography, comics, graphic novels, writing, sound, performance, design, textile, film/video, performance art, dance, curating — essentially multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary practices.
Eligibility
- Open to individual artists and creatives working in any of the disciplines listed (or other creative practices).
- No explicit nationality or age restriction stated — international applicants are possible.
- Applicants must be willing to commit to the full duration of a 10‑day session (for the 2026 In‑Residence programme).
- Selection seems to favor individuals whose project proposals can benefit from an intensive, focused period of production or R&D, and whose presence complements the group dynamic.
