The Mosaic Rooms job for Curators
Short Description
The Mosaic Rooms is seeking a Curator, Creative Learning to support their participatory art and education programs. This role involves working with young people, schools, and families seeking refuge, leading projects that promote creative engagement and learning. The position is part-time (4 days per week, £32,000 pro rata) and will be remote until September 2025, with in-person workshops.
Program Overview & Responsibilities
The curator will work closely with the Head of Programme, Creative Learning to develop and manage projects, including:
Young Collective Program: Monthly gatherings for young people (18-25) from refugee or Global Majority backgrounds with no formal art education
Yalla Let’s Play: Art and play sessions for families seeking refuge
Play Lab: Research and development residency for artists exploring play as a theme
Key tasks include:
Coordinating and delivering programs (events, workshops, mentorship)
Supporting freelance artists with contracts, planning, and logistics
Managing partnerships with schools, youth organizations, and refugee communities
Budgeting, reporting, and evaluation for funders and stakeholders
Marketing and outreach to engage audiences
Eligibility
Experience in coordinating and delivering learning programs in arts organizations, museums, or galleries
Passion for engaging diverse audiences, including young people and families
Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills
Experience in project coordination, budgeting, and event planning
Knowledge of the cultural and education sectors
High level of IT literacy
Desirable: Interest in Arab culture and contemporary art
Must provide satisfactory references (last 3 years)
