Short Description

UP Projects is partnering with the Royal Parks to offer a new, 6-month residency opportunity for an artist to be based at Greenwich Park, starting in January 2026.

Constellations is a learning and development programme led by UP Projects working in partnership with a range of organisations, including Flat Time House, Liverpool Biennial, John Hansard Gallery, and The Royal Parks. It has been devised for artists, curators, producers, commissioners, and all those who are active and/or interested in the expanded field of public art. The programme explores issues and best practice relevant to the public art sector via Constellations ° Assemblies, an online events programme, open to all, involving a range of UK and international speakers, the Constellations ° Cohort and this Constellations ° Residency.

Eligibility

This residency offers a distinctive opportunity for a socially engaged artist who has a strong connection to and understanding of Greenwich Park, its local audiences, and its cultural and social context. It is designed for artists with a deep interest in urban green spaces, particularly in exploring and addressing barriers to access, creating inclusive public art, and fostering meaningful relationships with local communities.

The program welcomes applications from early to mid-career artists who wish to develop and expand their practice through mentorship and by forming new connections with people and place. Expressions of interest are especially encouraged from artists representing one of the park’s underserved communities, who possess insight into the challenges and barriers that can affect a sense of belonging and inclusion within urban green environments.

How to Apply

Please submit your expression of interest along with a completed Equity and Diversity Monitoring Form by email to dbriscoe-peaple@royalparks.org.uk
