The program is co-funded by the European Union, highlighting its European-wide scope and professional standards.
Title & Description
UPBEAT x EMMA Artist Mentoring Programme – Mentor Application
This program seeks experienced European music managers to mentor emerging world/global music artists. Mentors guide artists in building sustainable careers, focusing on strategy, management, promotion, and artistic development. The mentoring is delivered entirely online, including structured sessions and ongoing support. Mentors are recognized for contributing their professional expertise to the next generation of artists and gain networking and visibility within the European music industry.

Eligibility
- Reside and work professionally within Europe
- Have at least 5 years of continuous music industry experience (local and international)
- Hold experience in key events, projects, and international music initiatives
- Possess a well-developed network in the music industry
- Have skills in strategic career planning, artist management, and business development
- Demonstrate knowledge in at least one area: release/distribution, streaming, marketing, publishing, contracts, tour management, stage coaching, or booking
- Be able to issue invoices
- Previous mentoring, coaching, or teaching experience is preferred
- Strong interpersonal, strategic, and psychological skills

Key Dates

- Mentee Selection: Mid–Late February 2026
- Introductory Session with Mentee: Mid–Late March 2026
- Mentoring Sessions: At least 4 x 60-minute online sessions over 6 months
- Final Career Plan Submission: End of September 2026

Additional Details
- Mentors develop a three-page personalized career plan per mentee
- Mentors must submit session reports and provide feedback via a structured form
- Email support for mentees is expected within reasonable limits
- Commitment to the project is mandatory to maintain mentorship quality
