About the Organizer

Situated in Chengdu, Sichuan, NY20+ is an art promotion organization supported by Nongyuan Culture, and committed to international art and culture exchanges and overseas projects. With multiple forms such as residency projects, exhibition planning, school-enterprise cooperation and the establishment of public welfare platforms, Chengdu is the core hub to link art and culture in various regions around the world and fully promote the in-depth exchange, interaction and development of international culture and art.

Title and Description

In 2025, NY20+ will extend a sincere invitation to professionals in the field of international environmental art.

It will be held in Nongyuan International Art Village, Chengdu, China from September to November 2025. The theme of the art festival is “Trash to Treasure”, aiming to deeply integrate the sustainable recycling economy of renewable resources with public art creation. It is not only committed to promoting cross-cultural art exchanges and innovations, but also actively promotes the concept of environmental protection and sustainable development, and helps the prosperity of community culture.

The Residency Provide

  • Exhibition tours and artist introductions.
  • Global public and media coverage, including but not limited to interviews and news reports.
  • Cross-cultural and international art exchange platform.
  • Works and achievements album (archive).
  • Individual and shared workspaces for artists during the Art Season residency, and open studio space for public participation.
  • Storage for recycled materials and purchased materials for the Art Season.
  • Exhibition of Artists-in-Residence Program results.
  • Accommodation, meals and public living space for artists.
  • Material procurement and field trip support.
  • Local field trip arrangements for all participating artists.
  • Translation and interpretation support for international participants.
  • Specialized documentary for the Artist Residency.

Application process

Applicants need to provide the following information: (Please see the application requirements for details)

  1. Latest resume and contact information: The file name must be standardized, such as “XX’s CV”, and attach valid contact information (phone, email, etc.).
  2. Portfolio: All work images must be named strictly in the format of “author-name-category/material-size-year”.

Work file information
  1. Video and audio files can be sent via email attachments or Cloud Drive links.
  2. All materials must be sent in the corresponding WORD, PDF, MP3, MP4, and JPG formats to ensure file compatibility and accessibility.
  3. The size of a single image must be greater than 2MB to ensure that the image quality is clear and can fully display the details of the work.

Artist Residency Schedule

Week 01:

Orientation & Community Engagement

  1. Arrival and accommodation setup for all artists.
  2. Welcome event and festival briefing.
  3. Guide tour of NY20+ Art Village and partner institutions.
  4. Networking sessions with local faculty, artists, and sustainability experts. Thematic discussions on upcycling, sustainability, and material exploration.
  5. Assignment of workspaces and materials.

Week 02- Week05:

  1. Artists work on individual and collaborative upcycling art projects.
  2. Daily open studios for visitors, students, and faculty. 
  3. Mid-week artist talks, demonstrations, and roundtable discussions. 
  4. Artist-led workshops engaging local artisans, students, and community members. 
  5. Integration of local and found materials into artworks. Weekly critique and feedback sessions to refine artistic direction

Week 06:

  1. Finalization of artworks and preparation of exhibition space.
  2. Public opening and artist panel discussions. 
  3. Guidedtours of exhibition and artist presentations. 
  4. Public and media engagement, including interviews and press coverage. 
  5. Closing ceremony and networking sessions
