The Usher Gallery Trust is hosting its second Open Exhibition, titled 'Art of the Now', in Summer 2025. This event celebrates the regional art scene by showcasing diverse works from talented Lincolnshire-based artists across various disciplines.   Information & Application Details:
  • Submission Opens: 12 November 2024
  • Submission Deadline: 7 April 2025
  • Notification of Results: End of May 2025
  • Exhibition Dates: July – September 2025
 

Eligibility:

  • Residency Requirement: Artists must be residents of Lincolnshire
  • Age: Open to all ages (with an Under 18s category)
  • Work Criteria: Must be created within the last 3 years and not previously exhibited at the Usher Gallery
  • Accepted Media: Paintings, photography, textiles, drawing, collage, mixed media, works on paper, sculpture, and video (excluding live arts, installations, and organic materials prone to deterioration)
  Theme: Art of the Now   How to Apply & Submission Requirements:
  • Submission Method: Via email to lincolnmuseum@lincolnshire.gov.uk
  • Email Subject: “Usher Gallery Trust Open Submission”
  • File Format: .JPG images, max 3MB per image
  • Number of Works: Up to 3 pieces per artist
  • Image Requirements:
    • 2D works: At least one front-facing image
    • 3D works: Photos against a plain background, with one from the front/preferred side
  • Additional Info: Include title, dimensions (cm), and pricing (if for sale)
 

Selection Process:

  • Judging Panel: The exhibition works will be selected by a curated panel based on:
    • Originality
    • Creativity
    • Artistic Quality & Skill
  • Notification of Results: By email at the end of May 2025
  • Framing for 2D Work: Selected 2D works must be framed with mirror plates for hanging

Sales & Commission:

  • Artists can choose to sell their work during the exhibition
  • Commission: 40% on sales (set your price accordingly!)
 

Insurance & Copyright:

  • Insurance: Artists are responsible for their own insurance coverage
  • Copyright: Artists retain copyright but grant permission for promotional photography and reproduction
