Organizer Information

The Vilcek Foundation is a U.S.-based nonprofit philanthropic organization dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the contributions of immigrants to the arts, sciences, and cultural life of the United States. Established in 2000 by Jan and Marica Vilcek, immigrants from the former Czechoslovakia, the foundation promotes appreciation of immigrant innovation through awards, grants, exhibitions, and public programming.

Through its grantmaking initiatives, the foundation supports nonprofit organizations that foster artistic creativity, cultural exchange, education, and social impact—particularly projects that highlight the achievements and experiences of immigrant communities. The foundation collaborates with museums, cultural institutions, arts organizations, and community groups across the United States, providing financial support to programs that expand access to the arts and elevate immigrant voices.

The Vilcek Foundation Grants program is one of the foundation’s major philanthropic initiatives. Through this program, the foundation provides funding to nonprofit organizations that demonstrate innovative approaches to arts, science, education, and community engagement related to immigrant experiences. By investing in mission-driven organizations, the foundation aims to strengthen cultural infrastructure and enable impactful programming that promotes diversity and creativity.

Title & Description

Vilcek Foundation Grant 2026

The Vilcek Foundation Grants program provides financial support to nonprofit organizations whose work aligns with the foundation’s mission of celebrating immigrant contributions and promoting diversity in the arts, sciences, education, and social services.

The grant program is designed to empower organizations that develop creative initiatives, cultural programming, and community-focused projects that highlight immigrant stories and foster cross-cultural understanding. Through these grants, the foundation seeks to support innovative projects that bring new perspectives to artistic and cultural discourse while strengthening public appreciation for immigrant communities.

Organizations receiving funding may use the grant to support programs such as exhibitions, film festivals, artistic productions, educational programs, community engagement initiatives, or interdisciplinary cultural projects. Priority is given to organizations that demonstrate originality, strong community impact, and a commitment to serving diverse audiences.

The program particularly values organizations that take a creative approach to their mission and produce unique outputs that distinguish them from similar institutions. Successful proposals typically show how the project will generate meaningful cultural engagement, broaden access to the arts, and create lasting benefits for communities.
