Operating as a bridge between creators, curators, collectors, and industry leaders, the platform provides discoverability infrastructure and promotional media tools to help independent creative work connect with new global audiences and professional collaborators.

WeDirectory Best Projects & Websites Award 2026 (Second Edition)

The WeDirectory Award has opened submissions for its second annual edition, celebrating exceptional digital creativity and inspiring creative websites across Art, Design, and Culture worldwide. Recognizing websites and public digital portfolios that push technical boundaries and set new standards in visual communication, storytelling, and user experience, the award evaluates both individual talents and established creative brands. A total of 100 projects will be selected for publication in a limited-edition printed collection book, with top winners receiving direct cash prizes, featured journal interviews, and homepage spotlights.

Categories

The award accepts public digital websites and online portfolios across Art, Design, Fashion, Visual Culture, Creative Studios, and Cultural Brands.

Eligibility

  • Geographic Scope: Open globally to creators, studios, and brands based anywhere in the world.
  • Entrant Types: Open to individual artists, designers, creative collectives, independent brands, agencies, and studios.
  • Portfolio Requirement: Applicants must possess a public digital portfolio—a dedicated website or public social media account—that authentically represents their practice and body of work.
  • Exclusions: Websites that won an award in the 2025 inaugural edition are not eligible to re-apply for the 2026 edition (they become eligible again in 2027).
  • Membership Prerequisite: Applicants must hold a free or premium WeDirectory member account to submit.

Program Benefits & Awards

  • Main Cash Prizes (Top 3 Winners):
    • 1st Place: $5,000 USD cash prize
    • 2nd Place: $2,000 USD cash prize
    • 3rd Place: $1,000 USD cash prize
  • Shortlist Placement (7 Winners): Featured personal interview published in the WeDirectory Journal, dedicated social media spotlights, a month-long feature on the WeDirectory homepage, and inclusion in the printed collection book.
  • Longlist Placement (90 Winners): Official W Card profile featured on the winners page and inclusion in the printed collection book.
  • Printed Book Publication: All 100 selected winners receive a copy of a limited-edition printed collection book archiving all winning websites.

Application Fee

Tiered submission fees apply based on application date (free for Premium Members):

  • Premium WeDirectory Membership Holders: $0 USD per website (Anytime)
  • February 1 – May 31, 2026: $49 USD per website
  • June 1 – October 31, 2026: $59 USD per website
  • November 1 – December 31, 2026: $69 USD per website

Application Requirements

  1. Digital Link: URL to a live website or public digital portfolio representing your creative work or brand.
  2. Account Setup: Free or premium member account on the WeDirectory platform.
  3. Judging Criteria Alignment: Submissions are evaluated by the jury across six core metrics:
    • Visual Attractiveness & Art Direction: Aesthetic strength, identity consistency, visual style.
    • UX/UI & Navigation: Clear structure, intuitive browsing, smooth user journey.
    • Concept & Purpose: Clear brand positioning or distinct individual project focus.
    • Content Quality: High-grade work samples and portfolio presentation.
    • Originality & Creative Impact: Unique, intentional, and memorable point of view.
    • Performance & Mobile Experience: Fast loading speeds, responsiveness, and mobile optimization.

How to Apply

Applicants log in to their WeDirectory account, select the application option, and submit their project URL directly through the digital intake portal.

Location

The application, jury evaluation, digital features, and winner announcements take place entirely Online. Physical collection books are shipped internationally to grantees.

  • Independent Jury: Submissions are evaluated by an international panel of cultural critics, photographers, and creative directors, including Adam Rindy, Francesca Interlenghi, Laura Zalenga, Pavel Ripley, and Len Gordon.
  • Jury Open Call: Experienced professionals in art, design, or visual culture aged 20+ can apply to join the Independent Jury panel by emailing team@we.directory with the subject line "Jury".
