SOPRA SOTTO is an interdisciplinary art residency founded by Constance in 2022. It brings together artists, thought leaders, and culture shapers to engage with urgent social and environmental questions. This is done through communal living, co-created workshops, and cross-disciplinary exchange.
SOPRA SOTTO approaches art as a powerful tool for research, questioning, (un)learning, and challenging the status quo, opening space for alternative futures to emerge. Creativity is understood as more than entertainment, carrying the capacity to foster connection, self-expression, emotional processing, resilience, and individual and collective healing.
Rooted in the belief that everything is interconnected, SOPRA SOTTO emphasizes collective care and more cyclical ways of living. The residency framework encourages accountability, openness, and trust, grounded in the idea that creatives are changemakers with an important role in societal transformation through ripple effects.
The residencies have been mostly taking place in Italy, mainly in Tuscany, but also in other regions of the country. From 2026 onward, the residency is planned to reopen in north-west Sardinia, establishing a new long-term site for future residencies.
